The final co-conspirator in a federal check fraud case has been sentenced in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. FiveNorman residents have now been convicted and sentenced for their roles in a check counterfeiting scheme.
Christopher Glenn Martin, 42; Johnathan Lee Madden, 33; Jenny Lynn Madden, 33; Dylan Ray Fountain, 22; and Cody Tyler Martin, 23, were each indicted inJanuary 2015. These individuals were accused of stealing mail in order to obtain personal banking information, and then using that information to createcounterfeit checks, which they used to make purchases at Oklahoma City and Norman area retailers, and which they also used to obtain cash from retailersand banks.
An investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service revealed that the five co-conspirators had been stealing mail and making counterfeit checksfrom September 2013 through June 2014.
Two of the defendants pleaded guilty to bank fraud for using the counterfeit checks to obtain cash from banks, and the remaining three defendants pleadedguilty to conspiracy for their roles in passing counterfeit checks to retailers.
Jenny Madden was the first to be sentenced for conspiracy. In September 2015, a United States District Judge sentenced her to 57 months in prison,3 years of supervised release, and $170,794.53 in restitution.

Now, the final defendant, Christopher Martin, has been sentenced for bank fraud. This week, he was ordered to serve 71 months in prison, followed by 5years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $170,794.53 in restitution.
Collectively, the co-conspirators are ordered to 231 months in prison and 36 months of probation.
