Tuesday, February 23, 2016

A probation officer working for the Office of Juvenile Affairs is the most recent person to be arrested in connection with a conspiracy to deliver contrabandto the Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown, Oklahoma.

Terry Clark, 56, of Hartshorne, was arrested on Monday and booked into the Pittsburg County Detention Center on a complaint of conspiracy. She has sincebeen released on $5,000 bond.

Two others were already arrested in connection with the alleged conspiracy. Brandon Desean Morgan, 23, and Rynesha Gatewood, 20, of Tulsa, were arrestedSunday on complaints of conspiracy and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

According to reports, law enforcement first became aware of the possible conspiracy when they responded to a call about a home invasion at the home whereClark lived.

While investigating, officers discovered a duffel bag filled with items including 24 bags of pipe tobacco, two cans of smokeless tobacco, and 25 flip phones. When questioned about the bag, Clark allegedly admitted that it was contraband intended for delivery to the state prison in Springtown.

The Oklahoma District 18 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force was called in to investigate. They say Clark told them that she was contacted by her brother,an inmate at the Mack Alford Correctional Center, who told her that their uncle was willing to deliver contraband to the prison if she would allowit to be stored at the house. In exchange, investigators say, she would get free rent on the home, which was owned by her uncle, and also receive apound of tobacco for each prison drop.

The uncle would allegedly drop the contraband at the house, where it would remain until someone else would come pick it up to deliver it to the prison.

Clark reportedly told investigators that contraband items had been picked up from her home

The task force determined that a pickup was scheduled for Sunday, and they began surveillance of the home.

When the scheduled pick-up day arrived, investigators arrested Morgan and Gatewood after they collected the duffel bag from the home. Investigators saythey found the contents of the duffel bag as well as 11 packages of marijuana in the vehicle.

Investigators say Morgan was cooperative, telling them that his job was to drop the duffel bag in a ditch, where it would be collected by another party, who would then make the prison drop.

The investigation continues in an effort to discover other suspects who may be involved in the alleged conspiracy.
