A tip from an investigator in Texas led to the arrest of an Oklahoma man on complaints of aggravated possession of child pornography.
Reports say the Texas law enforcement officer received pornographic images of children from an IP address in Oklahoma during an online sting. Texas authoritiesnotified the OSBI's Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) task force, who traced the IP address to a residence in Lindsey. The Canadian County Sheriff'sOffice, working with the OSBI, served a search warrant at the home of Bobby Ables, 52.
Deputies say they found 115,000 sexually explicit images and videos of children, some involving the rape and sexual assault of children as young as threeyears old.
Investigators also say they found two child-sized sex dolls in the man's closet.
When investigators questioned Ables about the images, he allegedly confessed to downloading and sharing child pornography for the past five years.
Canadian County Undersheriff Chris West says the agency is continuing to investigate the possibility that local children may have been involved.
Deputies arrested Ables and booked him into the Canadian County Jail on complaints of two felony counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.
Oklahoma law, in 21 O.S. 1040.12a, defines aggravated possessionof child pornography as the possession of 100 or more items of child pornography, including multiple copies of the same image. Aggravated possessionof child pornography is a felony punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
As of this writing, the District Attorney has not filed formal charges against the man. Pending the results of the investigation, he could face additionalcharges if investigators uncover evidence that he was involved in the production of child pornography or find evidence of child sexual assault.
